Coaching is the fundamental element to a successful hockey program. The coach is the CEO of the team and be able to provide leadership to the players, parents and other hockey officials. That person must be a teacher, a motivator, passionate, organized, respectful and committed. The coach must be a great communicator.
The St. Boniface Female Program is committed to appointing qualified persons in these demanding roles. We want to continue to improve our Female Program and the selection of the coaches is very important to our success.
This February, the St. Boniface Minor Hockey Association has initiated a program to evaluate coaches and assistant coaches . We ask parents and other interested parties to complete the Parent Survey Form and follow the established process for returning the forms. Please ensure that the category on the completed form has "Female - Atom A1" (for example) and the team name.
While the feedback form is directed towards a review of the Head Coach you may use the comments field to supply us with feedback (positive/negative) on the assistant coaches the head coach has selected.
We are asking the managers to distribute these feedback forms to each family on each team and to have them fill them in and return them in one of three ways.
1) Managers can place all hand returned forms (without reviewing them) in a sealed envelope and return to the Southdale arena office. This envelope should be marked "Coach Development - SBMHA".
2) If parents would like to return the forms themselves then they may place the completed form in a sealed envelope again marked "Coach Development - SBMHA" and leave it at the Southdale arena office.
3) Drop off completed forms in a sealed envelope (or mail) to "Coach Development" c/o Patrick Martin, 80 Norcross Cr. Winnipeg, MB CA R3X 1H8.
We are encouraging open and honest feedback for this survey and responses may be signed or they may be returned anonymously. All returned forms will be kept confidential.
Generic feedback may be supplied to the coach/coaches based on the evaluations received.
Thank you for your help in improving our Female Hockey Program.
