2017 GLOBAL GIRLS’ GAME WINNERS ANNOUNCED

WINNIPEG - Hockey Manitoba is proud to announce the winners of the 2017 Global Girls' Game hosted by the Ontario Women's Hockey Association (OWHA) and Hockey Canada.  The Global Girls' Game focuses on bringing female players throughout the world together as teammates while working to grow the sport of female hockey.  Hockey Manitoba will be sending two players to participate in the Canadian segment of the Global Girls' Game that will be taking place Sunday, February 19, 2017 in the Greater Toronto area.

Representing Hockey Manitoba will be:

  • Olivia Bourbonnais, Winnipeg - Olivia is in her 7th year of female hockey, playing forward for the Bantam A1 St. Boniface Stars in Winnipeg, MB.  Olivia hopes to one day receive a scholarship for playing hockey and go to school for architecture.  When Olivia is not playing hockey she is working hard to help others whether its creating flower headbands with proceeds going towards an all girls orphanage or working with people with autism.  She is a very positive & friendly person who hopes this experience will help her grow as a player & leader on & off the ice while meeting new people.  Olivia urges younger girls playing hockey to keep their head up (literally) & to count themselves lucky to be able to play a sport as it is a great way to make friends & develop leadership skills.

Coach Evaluation

Written by wefh admin on .

Hello,
Thank-you again for being part of another great year in Stars/Saints Female Hockey! I sincerely hope your daughter(s) had a fun year and that they gained some hockey knowledge and skills.
As we end this season and start looking forward to next year, it is important to evaluate our program and coaches. In doing this we can identify our strengths and weaknesses and work on improving for the future. Please fill out the coach evaluation so we can select the best candidates possible for next year.If your daughter had a great year, we want to know. Or if your daughter had a disappointing year, we definitely want to know! Please ask yourself the simple question: would I want the coach that just coached my daughter to coach her again next year? Whether the answer is yes or no, we want to know. Please use the comments section to add anything else you feel might be important. It only takes a few minutes to fill out the form and it helps our program by helping us be better. Your answers are anonymous.
Here is the link:

And if you sat in the stands watching this year and thought of things we could be doing better then please get involved. Be a coach, assistant coach, manager or join our WEFH board. I believe we have a wonderful volunteer base in our area and because of this WEFH will continue to grow and thrive.

Thanking you in advance.
